Premium Processing/Expedited Service

The Immigration Service has implemented a premium processing service, which allows certain employment-based petitions to be handled in an expeditious manner for an ADDITIONAL $1,000.00.  The classifications allowed are as follows:  E-1; E-2; H-1B; H-2A; H-2B; L-1; O-1; O-2; P-1; P-3; Q-1; TN; and R.

There are special filing instructions relative to the expedited service.  When filed, Form I-907, Request for Premium Processing Service, must be filed with the additional $1,000.00 fee.  Once filed, Immigration Service will respond via fax or e-mail with verification that it has received the application, and guarantees a process of the application within fifteen (15) calendar days.  There is a special, designated telephone number that may be used to reach directly to discuss premium-processing cases.  If the Immigration Service requires additional information regarding any application, this will be sent via fax/e-mail, and the Immigration Service  will accept fax responses to requests for additional information.

The premium processing service has been working exceptionally well since its inception.  We have found applications such as H-1B petitions to be approved in less than one week.  This is extraordinary, given that the normal processing time could easily be several months.  Although the cost is high, many employers opt to pay the additional fee so that the employee may be working three or four months sooner.
